TU leader demands jobs to JSpur displaced

The IOCl Paradip refinery project is all set to be commissioned in the middle of the year as about 90 per cent of its work has been completed. However, the authority has grossly ignored giving employment to the displaced, land losers and local unemployed youths, rued Paradep Progressive Construction Workers’ Union president Sudhakar Mantry.

Mantry submitted a memorandum to Union Oil and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and sought his intervention. He informed that many land losers and displaced were yet to get due compensation and employment in the project and hence, were living under hardship. The trade union leader said that the IOCl authority was yet to know the total number of people to be affected or displaced for the project.
