Noted trade union leader and social activist Santosh Kumar Pattnaik has strongly condemned a BJP supporter's shoe attack on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a public meeting in Bijepur.
"BJP supporters have become mad for their party to come to power. Kartik Meher who hurled shoe at the CM is an RSS member and BJP supporter. Our Chief Minister is the best administrator and ideal CM in the country. The BJP is acting undemocratically out of jealously and indulging in violence," said Pattnaik.
He demanded that perpetrators of violence be severely punished so that such activities are not repeated anywhere. The violent incidents would not affect the BJD’s winning prospects in Bijepur, he said, adding that the people would undoubtedly vote for the BJD due to the CM’s popular image.
