The traffic problem in the MCl coalmines area in Jharsuguda district has increased manifold due to lack of a truck terminus at Belpahar.
While thousands of trucks are transporting coals to places within and outside Jharsuguda district every day, Government is yet to establish a truck terminus even as locals have been demanding for the same since 2008 and the MCl has already provided Rs 50 lakh under its CSR head.
The lakhanpur Tehsildar is yet to allot land for the said parking.
When the State Government is showing keen interest in allotment of lands for development of industries and mines, it is not understood as to why a piece of land cannot be allotted for construction of a truck terminus, wanted to know some locals.
As per a DPR prepared by the district administer, the lakhanpur Tehsildar had been asked to allot the required space near Belpahar. last week, a reminder was also issued to the Tehasildar.
Meanwhile, rising cases of accidents between Jharsuguda and Bandhbahal due to irregular parking of the heavy vehicles has doubled the tension of general public.
