Shahid Bhagat Singh Sahitya Manch observed Saheed Divas in the premises of its office at Anand Nagar here on Wednesday morning.
D Tarakeswar Patra presided in the meeting held to mark the event. A number of dignitaries, namely, former Chief Engineer Raja Suresh, Tejeswar Rao, trade union leader Kishore Mishra, K Nandeshu Senapati and Pratap Chandra Choudhury spoke.
They paid their tributes to Bhagat Singh and made an elaborate presentation on the martyr. Suresh urged upon the youths to follow the footprints of Bhagat Singh. The Manch decided to fight against unemployment, starvation, and corruption.
Among others, Sushant Kar, writer Govinda Mohanty, academician B Balakrishna, K Basav Raju, Dr Devaraj Panigrahi, J Suresh and scores of social activists, senior citizens, and scribes along with local public were present. Manch secretary Muna Sethi read out the annual report.
