The Sadharana Barga Sammilani on Sunday paid tributes to the students who had self-immolated themselves and those who became victims of police firing during the Mandal Commission protest way back in 1990.
All India Samanta Mancha Odisha head Bhagirathi Mahasuar paying tributes to the martyred students urged all not to give speeches only but to make efforts to remove the obstacles in way of development of the country.
He said there is a need to eradicate the caste-based reservation in education, employment, politics and others for the development of the country. It is impossible to bring development in the society and country as long as reservation system is there. Among others, Sammilani convenor Milan Pradhan, veteran Bidyadhar Nayak, laxman Dash, Ansuman Das, Niranjan Sahu, Sukant Mohanty, Dinabndhu Sadangi and Prakash Barik were present.
