Several activists, including former MLA and BJP State Krishak Morcha president Pradeep Purohit, paid tributes to activist late Kandha Bibhar in Bikramnagar village in Paikmal block on Tuesday.
Bibhar took an active part in "BALCO Hatao - Save Gandhamardhan" movement in the 1980s.
He was arrested as a Satyagrahi. Bibhar passed away in his hometown of Vikramnagar at the age of 70 recently.
His wife Lala Bibhar too organised different campaigns to save the Gandhamardhan in the areas.
