Villagers of Partada in Gajapati district on Tuesdaysubmitted a memorandum to the district Collector demanding reconsideration of reservation of Partada Samiti member post, which is reserved for the OBC category while all people of the village are tribals.
About 20 people led by Kashinagar block Congress president Gabara Tirupati Rao submitted the memorandum.
“All people of Patrada village belong to Scheduled Tribe category. It is disappointing that the Partada Samiti member post has been reserved for the OBC woman category. Though we had lodged a complaint to change the reservation, yet no action was taken. Hence, we intimated our grievance to the district administration directly,” said the villagers.
