Sargiful, two-day district level festival, concluded on Saturday here. The fest had been organised by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development department to tap the talent of the trial students.
Around 600 students from 83 schools took part in various events like creative writing, dance, music, quiz, communication skills, painting and science exhibition.
The participants were students from classes I to X in institutions run by the department such as ashram schools, sevashrams, residential sevashrams, SC and ST development department high schools and Ekalavya modern residential schools of the district.
Presiding over the meeting DWO Pabitra Mohan Pradhan said, “The aim of the festival is to explore the hidden talent of the children through creative pursuits. As most of them come from residential schools, it is important that they are engaged in extra-curricular activities.”
Chief guest ITDA PA Narayan Murmu said, “The event has turned out to be a platform for budding talents of the students and also an opportunity to learn several activities which they can later conduct at their respective schools.” The festival was inaugurated by Collector MS Rashmita Panda, PDDRDA Poma Tudu and DFO Swayam Mallick.
