The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) here recently achieved another success towards its goal of providing free education to poor ST students as the Union Government has decided to enroll ST students in KISS-Delhi.
Notably, the Delhi Government had in 2013 set up a replica of the KISS by the name of KISS-Delhi to provide free education to students belonging to SC, ST, minorities and BPl group. The Government of NCT of Delhi has already provided infrastructure and other facilities for these poor students.
As per the decision of the Centre, 10 per cent of ST children of migrant ST families residing in Delhi can enroll in KISS-Delhi. It is another success for KISS as Tribal students could get chance to study in KISS-Delhi. The KISS authorities have thanked both Central Government and Delhi Government. Now, the KISS here is providing free education to 25,000indigenous tribal students in fully residential atmosphere.
