Demanding immediate transfer of a junior engineer (JE) and a GPO posted at Mohana block, the Adivasi Suraksha Manch on Saturday gheraoed the block office and urged the district administration to take stringent legal action against the duo with immediate effect.
Alleging that though they have appealed to the administration to take legal action against JE SK Ali for his illegal activity such as demanding bribes on many occasions, hundreds of protesters led by Nirmal Kumar Pal and Simay Gamango warned the Government of dire consequence if it fails to take any action in this regard. “A few years back, one Ismaile Dalbehera, a contractor had lodged a complaint with police against Ali alleging that the latter had claimed bribe for passing of a work order. But the police are yet to take any action on his complaint,” alleged Pal.
The protesters also demanded transfer of the GPO immediately as he has already served nearly six years at Mohana block.
