While the doubling of the railway line between Delang and Puri is in full swing, a trial run by a railway diesel engine was conducted on Monday in the presence of Chief Administrative Officer RP Diwakarm, Chief Engineer Sankarshan Nayak and Deputy Chief Engineer Sudhir Parida.
As per procedure, the line would be inspected by the Railway Safety Commissioner next month.
Notably, the Railway Ministry is putting much emphasis on completion of the doubling of the line up to Puri before the Nabakalebar festival to be held in 2015. ECoR General Manger Rajiv Vishnoi advised the ECoR construction team to complete the other works, which are under progress, as per the targets.
