Many big trees have been cut for construction of the Block colony’s new building at Bargarh district headquarters town. As per forest guidelines, the trees should be cut with permission of Forest department but here no permission was taken. Besides, the timbers have been sold illegally, locals alleged. They have also alleged that old house’s furniture has been sold without auction by Government guideline. Although block office is situated nearby forest office, yet no action was made for timbers. The local public of Bargarh have demanded a probe in to illegal tree cutting and timber sale by the Vigilance department.
