A woman created an unpleasant situation for a family at Jaleswar town on Monday evening. Identifying herself as Nandita Das, she barged into the house of the Chand family claiming that she was the daughter-in-law of the family.
She came when neither the house owner, his son nor any other family member was present. The stranger entered into the house towards evening when there were only tenants in the house.
She claimed that she had a pistol, a bomb, a knife and a container filled with acid and asked the tenants to vacate the house as she was the daughter-in-law of the house owner Sunil Chand. When she refused to vacate the house, the police were called in. The police informed that she was a transgender and earlier known as Nityagopal Das of village RRPur of Jaleswar block. After completion of graduation, he had disappeared and surfaced in the area now as Nandita in female attires.
The police also ascertained that he had friendship with Tapan Chand, a son of Sunil during college. Jaleswar PS IIC Sujit Pradhan said, “She had entered into the house only with a kerosene container. She could not any prove her claim that she married Tapan. It took us more than five hours to take her out of the house.”
