Traffic awareness via FM Radio in city

Published on:

The Commissionerate police on Monday launched a programme to create awareness among the people of the city through FM Radio and community radio. In a discussion with the officials of FM Radio stations and community radio operating in the city, Twin City Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma said they would make people aware through the FM Radios about traffic rules like use of helmet and seatbelt while driving, abiding by the Zebra crossing rule and driving in a disciplined way without taking any wrong turn.

Dr Sharma said the number of vehicles in the twin city has increased to 16 lakh, as a result of which traffic is getting thicker day by day. To sort out the problems, traffic awareness is the need of the hour. Officials of the FM Radios including Red FM, Big FM, Radio Chocolate and Community Radio of the SOA University participated in the discussion organised by the Commissionerate police at its headquarters here. As the FM Radio is becoming popular among people, especially the young mass, in the city, the awareness would yield good result, said a radio jockey.
