lack of famous places of tourism interest in Cuttack district has pushed the district administration in identifying more and more places that have potentials to attract tourists from across the State and outside.
Vetting the proposals submitted by people from different localities, district Collector Nirnal Chandra Mishra on Saturday shortlisted four places in Mahanga block and one each from Nischintkoili, Salieur and Tangi-Choudwar blocks of the district to give them the status of tourist spot.
The proposals include Manikeswar Shiv Mandir, Bhadrekeswar Shiv Mandir, Veer Kedareswar Mandir and Benod Behary Mandir of Mahanga. Similarly, Baladeojew Mandir of Nischintkoili, Hanumancheswar Mandir of Salipur and Uttareswar Mandir of Tangi-Choudwar.
“All these places have rich historic and cultural importance and have the potentiality to draw tourists in large numbers,” informed Mishra. The Collector said feasibility reports of these places to give them the new status would be submitted to the State Government soon.
