Being unable to bear the torture and atrocity of her husband, a woman committed suicide by taking poison at Birida under the Brahmani Taranga police station.
Sources said Anita Kumbhar was not happy with her husband Samika Kumbhar since her marriage as Samika used to beat her and torture her every day after taking alcohol. On Friday, the torture meted out to her was intense and unbearable. So, Anita took the extreme step. On Saturday morning, police rushed the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Samika was detained for further investigation, said IIC U Pradhan.
