Torn Tricolour in Dhenkanal office triggers resentment

A torn National Flag flying atop the court building at the premises of the district Collectorate here on Saturday triggered resentment among people here. Though the Tricolour was ripped in the middle, it was seen flying for a long time and officials had no inkling about it. However, the officials hastily changed the flag after public outcry. “A torn national flag atop the Collectorate is an insult of the Tricolour. We strongly condemn this. They are not able to respect the national flag so what respect will the residents expect from them,” said a functionary of a local organisation.”Do they deserve to handle the administration of the districtIJ” he questioned.

Meanwhile, Additional District Collector of Dhenkanal Jyotiranjan Pradhan took the allegation lightly saying, “I am not aware of the matter.”
