Jittery over their declining support of locals in the district, the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) Division of the Maoists has expelled a top leader Boda Anjaiah alias Naveen for antiparty activities.

The Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) claimed that action was taken against Naveen as he was misbehaving with women cadres.

As a result, people especially in the Swabhiman areas in the district had stopped supporting the Maoists.

Several cases including attack on security forces, murder and other Maoist related violence are registered against Naveen. He carries a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.

A native of Nalgonda district in Andhra Pradesh, Naveen had joined the movement in 2004.

Notably, recently hundreds of locals of villages in the Swabhiman area had congregated recently and decided to support development activities in the region despite the threats from the Red rebels, who are opposed to any kind of development in the region.
