Toilet demanded in M'bhanj-B'swar DMU train

Published on:

The Bangriposi-Baripada-Rupsa-Baleswar DMU passenger train plies between the important towns of Mayurbhanj and Baleswar districts four times a day. But the train does not even have the basic amenity like a toilet.

The train at present plies between Baripada and Rupsa twice a day and moves to and from Bangriposi and Baleswar via Baripada and Rupsa onlyonce a day and plies between Baripada and Baleswar via Rupsa again only once a day. All the time, a large number of passengers do board the train. The Baleswar-bound passengers who get into the train at Bangriposi cover a distance of more than 100 km, while going from Bangriposi to Baleswar, and the train, being a local one, takes a lot of halts and consequently a longer time to cover the distance. However, the passengers face a lot of difficulties as they do not find a toilet in the train, nor do they find provision of drinking water.

The passengers have resented the no toilet facility in the train and demanded that the railway authorities should address the genuine grievance immediately.
