International working president of Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Pravin Togadia on Friday while welcoming the triple talaq Bill said it would have been better if there would be equal law for everybody in the country. By this, the Muslims can be prevented from having four wives.
Attending a three-day conference of international board of trustees and executive committee of the VHP here, Togadia said that for development of Hindu religion, the VHP has chosen a new way which is ‘Samruddha Hindu Religion’ aimed at enhancing the Hindu community’s prestige and glory.
He said that to stop conversion from Hinduism to other religion; the VHP has taken a resolution to fulfil the dreams of Swami lakshmanananda Saraswati by focusing on providing free houses, food, education and treatment in the six lakh villages in the State and the country.
He appealed to the State Governments and the Central Government to advertise for the different posts which are lying vacant and for which funds have been sanctioned by which around one crore unemployed can be get jobs. And with the help of the Government, the VHP can provide around two lakh employments, he added.
Expressing concern over the increasing number of farmers’ suicide in the country, Togadia said VHP activists would reach each village to educate people about the benefit of nurturing cows and the high value of cow dung as a bio-fertiliser.
He said Pakistan by asking Kulbhusan Jhadav’s mother and wife to remove their Mangalsutras and bangles and change dresses humiliated the whole women’s community of India. He also reiterated his demand for a Central legislation to pave way for construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
Notwithstanding the pendency of cases in the court, the Central Government should pass legislation for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
All three pillars of the Constitution, the legislature, the judiciary and the executive, should work in tandem to facilitate the temple construction, he said. Togadia said a grand temple would be built in Ayodhya and no mosque would be built within the area designated for the temple.
The VHP leader said Hindus are not begging for the land as it belonged to them for ages before Babur's army destroyed the temple and built a mosque at the site. "We are only demanding that what belonged to us be returned to us," he said.
He also said the Centre should enact a law providing death penalty for cow slaughter.
Togadia further said the West Bengal Government had put restrictions on the Durga Puja emersion procession of Hindus.
But instead of deporting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, the WB Government is treating them like guests.
Swami Shankarananda Giri in his speech said, “We respect and give respect to all religions and we also want them to respect Bharatmata and urge for no conversion of Hindus to other religions.
VHP international secretary general Champat Rai, international president Hyderabad G Raghava Reddy and Jivan Muktananda Saraswati also spoke on the occasion.
