The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday threatened to approach the President of India seeking his intervention in the Koraput minor tribal girl gangrape case if the culprits are not arrested within seven days. TMC State chief Aryakumar Jnanendra alleged that the State Government has succeeded in hushing up the gangrape case. The Government is aware that the opposition parties in the State are weak and none of the media organisations are ready to take any issue to its logical conclusion, he said at a Press conference here.
He alleged that even though fifteen days have passed since the Class-IX girl was gangraped by four miscreants in military outfits at Sorishapadara of Kunduli gram panchayat under Pattangi block in Koraput district, the Crime Branch, which operates under the Chief Minister’s Home Department, has failed to arrest even a single culprit till date.
