The Special Task Force (STF) of the State Crime Branch on Wednesday raided the house of notorious gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito at Dilarpur in the district and arrested his two brothers, who had gone underground after Tito was nabbed more than a year ago.
Acting on a tipoff about the presence of the two brothers in the house, the STF swooped down on Tito house around 4 am. Sources said the two brothers G Babu and SK Jitu had absconded when the STF had arrested Tito on June 30, 2018. A number of cases relating to illegal sand mining, stone quarrying and other offences are pending against the duo.
Besides, the STF also arrested another relative (brother-in-law) of the gangster during the surprise raid.
Notably, the STF had arrested Tito following an encounter in Chandikhole area of Jajpur district. Presently, he is lodged in Jharpada Special Jail. It is alleged that after Tito arrest, his brothers operated his illegal empire.
