Tirkey's EVM hack slur bares his frustration: BJP

Published on:

In reply to the ‘EVM hacking’ allegation made by  Sundargarh Congress MP candidate George Tirkey, BJP Rourkela MLA nominee Nihar Ray described it as frustration of Tirkey.

It may be noted here that on Wednesday briefing to the Press Tirkey had alleged that Jual Oram had won the seat in 2014 because there was a Modi wave and promises of establishing a super speciality hospital and a second Brahmani bridge over the Brahmani river made by Modi.

Despite this Oram had got only 3.40 lakh votes then. While none of the two promises was met, Oram lost trust of tribals and there was no Modi wave this time, yet Oram unbelievably got 5.56 lakh votes this time. It was only possible due to EVM tampering, Tirkey had alleged.

Ray in reply to this said in comparison to 2014 this time Modi wave was wider for which BJP seats increased to 303 in national level and it went to 8 from 1 in Odisha.

Especially there was strong Modi wave in western Odisha. Similarly,  the Indian voters have already rejected Congress party. So out of frustration, Trkey had made the fake allegation. Instead of doing this he has to introspect to find out the reason behind the voters resentment against his party, told Ray.

Similarly, Ray said the works for both the project (IGH super specialty hospital and 2nd Brahmani Bridge) are going on and in December 2019 the notification for recruitment of 392 doctors and para medical staffs will be made.

Regarding Dilip Ray, he said after winning election in 2014 Dilip has betrayed the people of Rourkela and the party too. Being in party he was opposing the party activities as he was in a secret pact with BJD. Rather it was blessing for party in Sundargarh district as Dilip Ray was not in party and this is proved from election result, Ray told.

Ray also attributed his defeat in Rourkela to faulty voter list.
