Tirkey blames Govt for BSl closure

Biramitrapur MlA George Tirkey has blamed the State Government for closure of the BSl (Bisra Stone lime) Company leaving thousands of workers and their families in starvation. Briefing mediapersons here on Wednesday, Tirkey said that of the total 26 closed mines, 25 have been again pressed into operation through express order of the Supreme Court barring the BSl Company. The MlA attributed it to the negligence of the State Government.

The Odisha High Court had passed an interim order on February 13 to reopen mining activities of the BSl. Tirkey alleged “Ignoring the court order, the Rourkela DDM and the Bhubaneswar Mines Director have been adopting the delay tactics”. The statements of the Union Minister during his visit to Biramitrapur, State Mines Minister and big hoardings of the ruling party on opening of the BSl company is a slate to the denizens of Biramitrapur, he added.

Tirkey warned that the Biramitrpur Mazdoor Munch would resort to agitation in coming days if the State Government does not take early steps for reopening of the BSl Company.
