Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday appointed former BJD Rajya Sabha member and ex-captain of Indian national hockey team Dilip Tirkey as the Chairman of the State-run Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC).
Tirkey had been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha on March 22, 2012 and his tenure as a member of the Parliament’s Upper House ended on April 2 this year.
Notably, no political leader had been appointed as OTDC Chairman since the BJD’s Narendra Kumar Swain was elected to the Rajya Sabha about two years back.
