The Diabetes and Endocare Clinic held thyroid awareness cum testing sessions here at Satya Sai Dhyana Mandali, Patanajali Chikitsalaya, Yogadham and Brahmakumaris. January is the international thyroid awareness month.
Dr Sunil Kumar Kota, consultant endocrinologist from the Diabetes and Endocare Clinic, led the events and participated as the chief speaker. Dr Kota explained about the causes, symptoms and treatment of various thyroid disorders. Around 500 people from the organisations underwent thyroid blood testing. The attendees were provided with educational materials on thyroid and diabetes. Dr Kota emphasized on timely treatment and periodic follow-up with doctor to prevent complications.
An educational video CD on thyroid and diabetes was presented. K Vijay Bhaskar from Satya Sai Dhyana Mandali, Dr Debraj Panigrahy from Patanjali Chikitsalaya, P Rama Rao Patro from Yogadham and chief coordinator B K Basanti from Brahma Kumaris were present.
