Uproot this “inept” Government and throw it out into the sea. For an overall development of Odisha, elect a strong BJP Government in the 2019 elections, said BJP national president Amit Shah while addressing a Mahasamavesh (grand rally) of the BJP booth-level workers at the Janata Maidan here on Friday.
Addressing the huge congregation, he first prayed lord Jagannath and said Odisha is miles away from development. Everybody knows who is responsible. Why development has not been possible in the BJD’s last 18 years is because of an inefficient Government which has become like a defunct transformer, due to which the Central schemes emanating from the Modi Government’s big powerhouse and meant for welfare of people have not reached them.
Shah said, “I have not come here to count the success stories of the Narendra Modi Government. I have come here to question the BJD Government’s achievements in the last 18 years, which is a long time. He questioned whether the Naveen Patnaik Government has been successful in providing pure drinking water, 24-hour electricity, road communications and new industries. The answer is no. What has Naveen done all these years, he asked. The only thing he has done is increasing unemployment in the State, he said.
The Odia youths have contributed immensely to the country’s development with their blood and sweat in Surat, Mumbai and other parts. But they are forced to migrate to these places instead of getting employment near their homes State and at the same time taking care of their parents.
He further said that in the last three years, the Centre has sanctioned Rs 4 lakh crore to Odisha. Where has it gone, he questioned. Naveen Patnaik must answer this to the people.
There is massive corruption in the State. Doesn’t Naveen know about the mining scamIJ Poor investors have been duped of crores of rupees by chit fund companies.
If the cheated people stand in a queue, it would reach Delhi. The looters, who are hand in glove with the BJD, have got away unpunished. But they cannot escape. The BJP Government would send them to jail, the BJP supremo said.
He apologised to the crowd for not being able to speak to them in Odia and questioned to them, whether a person of the State who is unable to speak to them in Odia should apologise or notIJ His taunt was clearly aimed at Naveen Patnaik.
He said the State Government is not cooperating with the Modi Government for development of Odisha. He urged each booth-level worker to spread the message of the BJP welfare schemes to at least 50 households so that the party’s mission of 120-plus Assembly seats in the 2019 general elections is achieved.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that like the Prime Minister said he is the Sevak of the people, the BJP leaders are the Sevaks of four crores of Odias and the people are their masters.
Among others, Union Minister Jual Oram, State BJP president Basant Panda and BJP legislature Party leader KV Singh Deo also spoke about the failures of the BJD Government.
