In three incidents, three school students committed suicide in Ganjam and Balangir districts in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, a Class-X student allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at the school premises in Ganjam.
The deceased, identified as Bapi Bhuyan, was found hanging at the P laxminarayan High School premises on Sunday morning.
Family sources said Bapi had left home for tuition.
Sources revealed Bapi did not go to attend tuition class in the morning. As the deceased was using a Smartphone, it was suspected that he might be a victim of the deadly online Blue Whale game.
Police began investigation into the incident.
In the other incidents, two minor girl students committed suicide on Sunday at Dunguripada village under the Town police station at Balangir.
The students of Class-IX of the Navajeevan Bidyapeeth hanged themselves.
While one committed suicide in the morning, the other ended her life in the afternoon.
They both belonged to the same village.
