Three girls, including two minors, of Sundargarh district, who were rescued by the Sambalpur Child line three days ago, were handed over to the Sundargarh Child Welfare Committee on Thursday.
Followed by an enquiry, the committee handed over them to their mothers. Sources said the three girls had gone to Sambalpur for working 15 days ago without informing their parents. One of them had had love affair with a youth of Sambalpur district and with his help they had gone in search of work. They were staying in a house there arranged by the youth.
On March 7, a social worker of Sambalpur noticed the girls and informed the Child line there. The Child line later contacted Sundargarh Child Welfare Committee, said committee chairperson Swarnalata Dei.
