In a strange and shocking incident, a couple and their three-year-old child were found dead in their house at Balughat under the Raghunathpali police station in Rourkela on Sunday. The victims were Milku Badaik, his wife Arati and their son.
Sources said the residents of the slum noticed the bodies lying in a pool of blood in the house in the morning and informed the police. Rourkela SP Anirudhha Singh along with Raghunathpali police personnel and a scientific team reached the spot and seized the bodies for postmortem.
Though the exact cause of the murder was not ascertained yet, it was suspected that the killers used sharp weapons.
Notably, an old couple had been attacked in a similar style on Saturday at Ruptala, around one km from Balughat. The critically injured couple has been admitted at the Rourkela Government Hospital.
