The three newly-elected BJD Rajya Sabha members, Prashant Nanda, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Achyuta Samanta, took oath of office in the Upper House of the Parliament on Wednesday.
Vice-president and RS Chairman Venkaiah Naidu administered oaths to Nanda, Patnaik and Samanta and 38 other new members. All the three members took oath in Odia.
Notably, the three BJD candidates were elected to the Rajya Sabha uncontested on March 15 as the tenures of AU Singhdeo (BJD), Dilip Tirkey (BJD) and AV Swami (Independent) were to end on April 2.
