In a bid to expedite the anti-Covid vaccination drive, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up three more drive-in vaccination centres in the capital city.
The three centres are located at Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall at Kalpana Square, Symphony Mall at Rudrapur and KIIT University Cricket Stadium at Patia. BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said citizens above 45 years of age, who have already taken the first dose, can book their slots for the second jab at these centres from 6 pm onwards on Monday. Total 300 slots per location would be available from May 11 to May 15. Without slot booking, no vehicle would be allowed entry into the centres for vaccination.
So far, 5 lakh people have been vaccinated with both the doses in the city. The Commissioner further said immunisation of those between 18 and 44 years at private hospitals would begin after the Covaxin stocks ordered by Government reach the State.
