The Sadar police after arresting three persons forwarded them to court on Saturday on the charge of attempt to murder.
They were identified as Sujit Jena (32) and Bijay Sethi of Kasmila village and Pradip Das (28) of Manikhamb village. They were nabbed when they entered Bangara village in order to commit the crime.
One mouser, five live rounds of bullets and a dagger were seized from their possession. The police too seized their three bikes as well as mobile phones.
According to the police sources, the accused were land brokers and they had gone to the village Bangara in inebriated state in order to eliminate Babu Majhi who is also in real estate business.
“There was a rivalry among them over a land,” said Sadar IIC Dayanidhi Das.
