Ahead of panchayat elections, many Gajapati district leaders belonging to different political parties changed forums on Sunday.
Gajapati district Congress secretary Durga Prasad Subuddhi, Rayagarh block secretary Madhusudan Bhuyan and former Samiti Member Gangadhar Sabar along with their supporters joined the BJP at a meeting held in Brahmapur. BJP district in-charge and State spokesperson Golak Mohapatra, Ganjam district president Kahnu Charan Pati, State general secretary Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Gajapati district in-charge Saroj Sabat welcomed them to the party.
In another development, five leaders and 25 workers of the Kashinagar block BJD switched over to Congress on the day. U Sanjib Rao, K Ramarao, G Achyut Rao, K Gopinatham and lokesh of Kidinga GP under the block joined the Congress, informed Parala MlA K Surya Rao.
They joined at Gajapati district vice-president Jagamohan Rao’s house at Paralakhemundi in the presence of Rao and Parala Town president Basant Kumar Panda.
