The Baseli Sahi police on Monday night arrested three dreaded dacoits while they were planning to commit dacoity at a temple along the Puri Satpara-Brahmagir road. They also recovered a 9mm country-made mouser with three bullets, three daggers, two mobile phones and a numberless SUV from them.
The miscreants were identified as Madhab Dalei and HariHar Panda of the Mangalaghat area under the Baseli Sahi and Bipin Mishra of Bali-upar basti under the Kumbharpara police limits. While Madhav is involved in seventeen criminal cases, Bipin has twelve and Harihar two cases. They were involved in dacoity, robbery, snatching and various other criminal offences, said PS Inspector Bichitranada Sethi.
They were forwarded to the SDJM court, from where they were sent to jail custody.
