At least three BJP women activists and two police personnel were injured in a clash erupted between them while party activists were staging a demonstration in front of the CDPO office at Nimapada in Puri district on Wednesday in protest against child deaths due to malnutrition at Nagada village in Jajpur district.

According to information, the faceoff occurred as police prevented the agitating party activists from barging into the CDPO office.

The police arrested three of the activists on the charge of attacking police on duty.

However, BJP Mahila State president Prabhati Parida refuted the charge saying that the IIC had not brought women police while they had already informed the police station regarding the demonstration.
