The Kendrapada town police on Wednesday arrested three Artha Tawta (AT) Group officials working at the company’s Kendrapada town branch and seized some cheques.

According to Kendrapada Town police station IIC Ranjan Kumar Dey, acting on an FIR filed by an investor, Parsuram Sahu, of Santasahi, the police raided the office and arrested the trio identified as senior territorial manager Soumyaranjan Kar, territorial manager Pratap Kumar Sahu and territorial officer Sukanta Nath Sharma.

They were booked under Sections 420 and 120(b) of IPC and Sections 4, 5 and 6 of Price and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978. They were sent to jail custody after the local SDJM court rejected their bail pleas.

However, the trio refuted the fraud allegation and said they are innocent. “We are being victimised. We urge the Government and the Crime Branch to take strict actions against the officials actually responsible,” said Pratap.
