Several thousands of Lord Ram lovers attended a Sankalpa Samavesh organised here by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and promised to extend all support for establishment of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

Monks and saints attending the meeting demanded that the Union Government enact a law in the Parliament for construction of a Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. They too demanded that should be now mosque or any other structure of Babar in the cultural region of Ayodhya.

VHP eastern region executive president Dr Nagen Kumar Debata presided over the meeting and Puri branch convenor Umashankar Acharya anchored the Sankalap Samavesh. VHP central member and Goseva Aayog chairman Swami Akhileshwaranda Maharaj graced as chief guest.

In his speech Maharaj said, “It is the moral responsibility of an elected Government to provide protection to people. While sentiments of thousands of Hindu people have been hurt, it is disappointing that we (Hindus) have not got justice from the judiciary and the Government is not listening to our demands.”

He demanded that considering people’s demand and sentiment the Union Government should provide support for establishment of a Ram Temple at Ayodhya soon. He said people will give a befitting reply in coming days if the Narendra Modi Government doesn’t respect people’s sentiments towards establishment of Ram Temple.

Kriyayog Ashram, Bhubaneswar chief Swami Sankarananda Giri said the high-level committee has asked all MPs to demand for enacting a law in the Parliament for establishment of a Ram Temple at Ayodhya. VHP member Sharat Chandra Sarangi highlighted about the birthplace of Lord Ram. Sum Hospital Director Dr Basant Pati, RSS Odisha campaign chief Sharada Prasad Satpathy, Hindu Jagaran Samukhya, Odisha chief Ajit Patnaik, Patanjali State-in-charge Sudhanshu Adhikari and All India Jain Samaj member Prakash Batala spoke.

At the outset, Satyanarayan Dash delivered a welcome address and VHP spokesperson Pramod Kumar Dash proposed a vote of thanks.
