This is my last electoral battle: KP Singh Deo’

Launching an emotional appeal to the people through media, Congress candidate and former Union Minister KP Singh Deo said this would be his last electoral battle of life to complete the incomplete work which he had started in the Dhenkanal Lok Sabha constituency.

Even though he was not willing to enter into the fray this time due to old age and ill health, he could not defy the party’s decision as he always behaved as a disciplined soldier of the party. But his winning possibility depends on the voters, he said.

Sing Deo claimed that setting up of the Nalco in undivided Dhenkanal district was possible only for him after his approach to former PM late Indira Gandhi. Apart from the Saranga Dhara Setu between Dhenkanal and Kamakhyanagar, installation of the Joranda Radio Station, low power transmission centre, science centre, IIMC, SAI Sports Hostel, KV and Krushi Gabesana Kendra at Kadalipal and Khinda were his achievements when he was a Union Minister, he told.

However, Singh Deo expressed concern that the Angul-Sukinda railway track via Kamakhyanagar which was initiated by him when Ramvilas Paswan was the Railway Minister has not been completed yet.

Singh Deo filed his nomination papers on the day with the Returning Officer in Dhenkanal coming in a rally from the Gandhi Mandir.
