The third Opolfed Chicken Fresh outlet in the city was inaugurated by Agriculture, Fisheries and ARD Minister Pradeep Maharathy at the OUAT campus here on Friday.
Besides, a semi automatic chicken processing unit with a capacity of processing 2,000 broiler birds per day has been set up at Sahidnagar here. Consumers can get processed hygienic meat from the outlet within 10 minutes of placing order at the processing unit.
Meat of different broiler birds, country birds, Banaraja, Rainbow Rooster variety and also duck and quail meat are also available at the store. The price of poultry meat and eggs are comparatively cheaper than the existing market price, said an Opolfed official. The Opolfed is now exploring possibility of a tie up with the Venky’s India limited to provide ready-to-eat chicken products to consumers at an affordable price, the official added.
