Frequent occurring of theft and robberies in the Jaydev Vihar residence area coupled with police inaction has left locals as a worried lot.
What is shocking is that even though house owners, whose houses have been robbed, have lodged complaints in the Nayapalli police station with CCTV footages, no action has been taken. Interestingly, a Class VIII student of Chandrasekharpur DAV School expressed deep concern in a letter to The Pioneer.
“Even though CCTV cameras have been installed in and around our resident, robbers entered our neighbour’s house at 2 am and decamped with Rs 29,000 and two laptops. Our CCTV footage shows thief’s movement. The house owner submitted the footage with his FIT at the Nayapalli PS. It is disappointing that no action has been taken,” Tatsat Mohanty mentioned in the letter.
He also stated that another such incident happened on March 10 where in two thieves robbed the down floor at the back side of our house in absence of the house owners. This could also be seen in our CCTV footage.
The tiny boy lamented that thefts are happening frequently as the police have not taken any action. He urged that police should take action so that residents can get peace of mind and live securely.
