Third Gender Welfare Trust president Meghana Kinnar, secretary Rani Kinnar, social worker and actress Bidusmita, Third Gender State Committee member Meera Kinnar went to the Capital Hospital here on Saturday to meet the nine-year-old rape victim and expressed deep concern.
They inquired about the victim’s condition from the doctors and nurse in the hospital. The victim’s mother said the social activists that the family members of the accused Ahiraj threatened to kidnap her son if they raise voice against him.
The activists discussed with Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi and requested him to give protection to the family. DCP promised to take action on it.
They also demanded adequate compensation for the victim. “If the Government fails to fulfil the demand, we would be forced to take to the street,” they said.
