'Terrorism has no place in Islam'

Violence and terrorism have no place in Islam. Islam only supports peace, harmony and brotherhood. Prophet Mohammad always preached that the Muslim community should honor the call for humanity, said speakers at a meeting here organised by the Bhubaneswar Jamaat-E-Islami on Sunday.

While Shabdhar Hashim presided over the meeting, the Koran was read by Shiraz Taqmil. All-India Jamaat-E-Islami secretary Janab Iqbal Mulla said, “The security and development of India is our responsibility and there is no place for terrorism and violence in Islam.” Former MP Baishnab Charan Parida said for a good relation between different religions, each community should know about the other’s religion properly. The Islamic books should be printed in Odia language, he added.

Among others, Ramachandra Panda, Brahmakumari lina Didi, Rabi Das, Ajaya Jena, Mahaveer Prasad Sharma and Mohammad Riazudin were present. The vote of thanks was offered by Mohammad Ali.
