Hundreds of members of the Tent House Suppliers’ and Owners’ Association converged here on Sunday and participated in the 7th State Conference. Association national chairman Mohan Seth inaugurated the event.
Association leaders opposed the multi-tax burden on the tent house operators and owners. Apart from service taxes, they are paying professional tax, besides VAT. This was gross injustice, they pointed out.
The conference resolved to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard urging him to streamline the tax system.
If their demand is not considered, they would resort to agitation and stage a demonstration in New Delhi, the leaders said. Association national president MN Gulati and general secretary KS Kochhar addressed the conference while State chairperson Dbebndra Kumar Panda, president DP Bhagat and general secretary PK Das were present on the dais.
