Tension prevailed at a private hospital here near Vani Vihar Square under the Saheed Nagar Police limits on Saturday following allegations of relatives of a patient that she died due to gross negligence on the part of the doctors. The relatives held a demonstration in front of the hospital for nearly two hours.
According to the family members of deceased Suchitra Nayak of the city’s laxmisagar area, was admitted to the Sparsh hospital on Friday night for delivery. After the safe delivery of a baby, they found her dead on Saturday morning.Suchitra had come to the hospital for regular check-up earlier, they said. They demanded action against the doctor who was allegedly responsible for her death. They alleged total negligence of doctors on duty.
However, they withdrew their protest after the police intervened. The police took the body of the deceased to the Capital Hospital here for autopsy.The Sparsh hospital authorities denied the allegation of their gross negligence and said Sucharita’s death was due to her suffering from heart diseases.
