Tension prevailed at the Baliapal Community Health Centre (CHC) in Baleswar district on Tuesday after a woman delivered a stillborn baby at the hospital allegedly due to medical negligence.
Sources said one Sania Hembram of Narayanpur village had been admitted to the hospital on Monday night. The family members alleged that an untrained nurse was engaged for delivery since on-duty doctor Bhagirathi Murmu was absent, as a result of which the baby died before birth due to poor treatment.
It was also alleged that the hospital staffs took away the body without the knowledge of the family members after the latter created a ruckus. Sources said the family members later turned up at the local police station seeking justice.
