Tension mounted in the Tata Steel plant at Kalinganagar on Monday after a worker of the plant died of dengue at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. The deceased was identified as Ananta Mohant (40) of Sukinda.
Hundreds of agitated workers and the family members of the deceased locked the main gate of the plant and raised slogans against plant officials for their gross negligence towards a healthy environment in the plant.
“Police rushed to the spot and pacified the workers. Security has been tightened in the plant to check any untoward incident,” said Kalinganagar police station IIC Jyoti Prakash Panda.
