Tension prevailed at a girls’ residential school at Kaudiaguda under Kundura block in Koraput district after a Class-VIII student died on Friday.
According to reports, the girl had been taken ill at around 2 am, following which she was rushed to the Kunduru Community Health Centre (CHC). She was later shifted to a hospital in Jeypore as her condition deteriorated. However, she was declared brought dead by doctors.
Police sent the girl’s body for postmortem. The exact cause behind the death would be ascertained after the autopsy report is received, said police.
Meanwhile, irate locals demanded compensation to the family members of the deceased.
