Tension gripped the Junagarh Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kalahandi district following the death of a patient allegedly due to negligence in treatment on Tuesday.
According to reports, one Radhamohan Patel (18) of Kelo village had been admitted to the CHC on Monday night after he complained of stomach pain. However, he died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday.
The family members of Radhamohan alleged that lack of proper treatment at right time led to his death.
Sources said Radhamohan’s relatives called a doctor to attend him when his pain intensified late at night. However, the doctor didn’t come and told them that the patient would be fine.
Following the death of Radhamohan, locals and relatives of the patient staged a dharna by keeping the body in front of the CHC main gate. They demanded compensation for the family members of the deceased and action against the doctor, who allegedly tried to shift the patient to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Bhawanipatna.
