Tension prevailed at some places on Saturday during the gherao of the SP offices across the State by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) to protest against the suicide of the Kunduli gangrape victim.
In Bargarh, during the gherao of the SP office, the BJP youth wing activists and the police scuffled. later, the police arrested BJYM State president Tankadhar Tripathy and many youth activists.
Tripathy said, “Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is responsible for the Kunduli minor girl’s suicide. We will continue our fight for justice to the victim.”
Similar scenes were also witnessed during the gherao of the Koenjhar district SP office. The police had a tough time in controlling the protestors, who scuffled with the police. Many protestors were detained by the police. A demonstration was also held in Rourkela by the BJYM activists demanding a CBI probe into the incident.
Similarly, the BJP Manila Morcha on Saturday held bier processions in four districts against the suicide in protest against the suicide of the Kunduli gangrape victim.
